THE NILE HILTON INCIDENT
NORTH WEST PREMIERE
The International Film Festival ends with an Exclusive Preview Screening of this Swedish production set in Egypt in the days before the 2011 Revolution.
A police detective trolls the city, demanding payoffs from whoever is unlucky enough to cross his path. To call him corrupt is not to say that the rest of the force is clean. Everyone here is on the take, all the time. But a witness to a murder in a case labelled suicide causes him to develop a shred of conscience.
What the Critics say…
“You can feel the Middle Eastern country’s impending wave of frustration, corruption, and paranoia simmering underneath every scene in the film like white noise in the background.“ Entertainment Weekly
