Film Festival starts with a bang – Literally!
The Chester 2015 International Film Festival opened last night with a showing of “Before the Winter Chill” at Chester Cathedral Refectory.
The evening was interesting, not least because we discovered that a film crew were also in the Cathedral, filming a costume drama. In fact we had to warn the audience that the climactic scene was being filmed next door complete with authentic gunshot! So you see, I was right, the festival did open with a bang!
Tonight we relocate to Chester’s Grosvenor Museum for an apt showing of “Museum Hours”. The film is a grand, profound and exceptionally beautiful love letter to museums and the wealth of culture that can be found in everyday life. The result is an experience not unlike going to a museum itself: a chance to peruse wondrous things in a sacred space. This evening, enjoy a film where art and life become beautifully entangled.
Also tonight we see the continuation of our Animation Showcase, where we invite you to vote on the best film to win the festival Audience Award.
Tickets can be reserved by emailing bookings@chesterfilmfans.co.uk, or by telephoning 01244 371750. Tickets are just £4. Or for even better value you can buy a special pass for just £12 allowing entry to any 4 films.
