I AM NOT A WITCH
In this daringly satirical parable of magic and misogyny, superstition and social strictures in a remote Zambian village, an 8 year-old girl is accused of being a witch following an accident. She is found guilty and locked up in a witch camp as an enslaved tourist attraction. Writer-director Nyoni, born in Zambia and part-raised in Wales, was inspired by real-life reports of witchcraft accusations in Zambia; her research took her to Ghana, where she became the first foreigner to sleep in one of the world’s oldest “witch camps”.
What the Critics say…

DEATH OF A FRUIT FLY (L’ARIA DEL MOSCERINO)
A tiny fruit fly gets swatted. But against all odds, it defies death the Italian way.
This film centres around impulses we all can feel but never act upon. It explores what would happen if our buried instincts come back to claim their place, showing glimpses of emotional anarchy and moments of lost self-control.
