The 2018 Chester International Film Festival, our 32nd, has now concluded. Our 33rd Festival is now in preparation, but in the meantime please take a look at our previous offerings.

We were delighted to offer a great collection of the best in world cinema, including this year 2 Oscar nominated films, plus a North West premiere.

After it’s outstanding launch in 2014, we again hosted our 5th Animation Festival alongside the 2018 Festival.  We showed the best in international animations following a call for submissions.  The Audience Award at the Animation Festival tonight was won by: Death of a Fruit Fly. Congratulations to Lukas von Berg, Oliver Krause and Leonard Kuessner from Germany!

The festival is organised by Chester Film Society. Running since 1970, we have provided an unbroken opportunity for our audiences to experience the best in contemporary cinema. If you are interested in future film events, please visit our Film Society website,

If you need any help, please get in touch, we will be happy to answer your questions.

Enjoy the Movies!
