Welcome to The 2017 Chester International Film Festival, our 31st!

We are delighted to present this diverse collection of some of the finer films of world cinema in a relaxing and appreciative atmosphere.  This year, we are presenting films from 15 countries.

We are showing in a new venue this year – the appropriately named Festival Church.

After it’s outstanding launch in 2014, we are pleased to again host our Animation Festival alongside this year’s Festival.  We will be showing the best in international animations following a call for submissions. For this year’s festival, we have had 270 entries submitted from 52 countries!  We have narrowed this down to the best 12 films. Each night our audience will vote, and on the final night – Saturday 11 March – we will decide who will win the audience prize for 2017.

Doors open at 6.45pm each night, and refreshments are available from the Festival Coffee Bar in the Gallery.

All film programmes start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are just £4. Or for even better value you can buy a special pass for just £20 allowing entry to all 7 films.
